As a Multimedia Designer employed by Birmingham City University from September 2008, I have been working on Shareville full time.
Shareville is a place where you can engage in a variety of real world scenarios situated in real world contexts - it is just the environment that is a 3D model.
I have been developing all the Flash interface, using Actionscript 2 and 3 with Papervision3D, besides some of the 3D models.
Together with Professor Alan Staley, Niall Mackenzie and Mark Hetherington I am also part of the team in charge of creating, developing and maintain every element of Shareville - from its name to its accessibility, from the technology in use to the overall look, etc.
The town is a system of contextualized links to a variety of learning and educational resources, produced by SALT at BCU in the past few years. These resources are now open source and globally available through Shareville.
So far, this is the biggest project I have been working at. It is been also a vocational experience, as I realized I will mainly work as a Multimedia Designer for Learning Technology in the future.
